1998 Corvette Coupe Very Rare Aztec Gold
1 of only 15 Aztec Gold 1998 Corvettes ever built$34,990
This is one of the rarest C5 Corvettes ever built. In 1997 GM was experimenting with RPO 58U Aztec Gold. Rumor was that it was going to be the color for the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvettes. Corvette was working with the paint supplier, DuPont in developing the paint, but due to color matching issues it was never made available to the general public – the project died. During the development there were a total of 15 Corvettes painted this color, none of the cars were sold directly to the public. While working with DuPont the factory produced the cars in 3 separate groups of 5, this Corvette was car signed by Will Cooksey, the Bowling Green, Ky. plant manager, as being number 6. After being completed the cars were sent to GM for evaluation then later sold through an auction to select Chevrolet dealers, today a good number of these Corvettes remain in the private collections of some of those dealers. The previous owners of this rare Corvette have driven it but have also maintained it to very high standards, it looks like new. This car has an automatic transmission, performance axle, memory drivers seat, dual zone A/C, and Black interior with sport seats, transparent top and fog lamps. It has also been updated with an aftermarket exhaust system and chrome factory wheels. This is a truly rare C5 Corvette that will be a great addition to any Corvette collector.
