US President Barack Obama is spreading the TV love around. The world leader, who featured on a recent outdoor television episode with Bear Grylls in the Alaskan wilderness, will appear on Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee when the web series premieres later this month.

The Seinfeld star, who invites fellow celebrities to join him for a ride in a classic car for the show as they discuss a variety of topics over coffee, was granted the opportunity to chat with the world leader at the White House earlier this month.

The episode, in which they travel in a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe, will debut on 30 December.

“Growing up in the ’60s, my kid dream was always to be an astronaut – doing a comedy show with President Obama in and around the White House felt like going into space,” Seinfeld said in a statement.

“‘How did I get here?’ ‘Is this really happening?’ The President’s humour and generosity are the only reasons this was even possible. He was so easy and fun to be with. Being President and just a cool guy to hang out with at the same time made the experience my own personal moonwalk. It was an unforgettable day.”

Other guests featured on the upcoming season of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee include Will Ferrell, Steve Martin and Garry Shandling.
